Module 3 – What to download

And here we present the golden post.  Before you go down the road of even trying to install a working version of Connections, it’s best to get all the software downloaded in advance.  What we typically do is (and yes, this is basic) download all software into a “software” folder on one machine.  Then share this folder on the network if possible and use it from all other machines.  Additionally we rename all the software download packages to something meaningful if at all possible and group them into relevant directories.  This will stop headaches (from pounding your head against a wall).    Again, we assume Win2k8 64bit.  In the searches we display, we are using the IBM Partnerworld site, but the part numbers should be the same.  If you want to use the download director software, you will need to install Java on the machine completing the downloads.

Recently, IBM created a related Software for IBM Connections 4.0 page which helps in clearing up exactly what you need.

Important tip.  If you know the part number, you should search by part number on the search sites.

Then, search for the filenames below (remove the .pak)
